Office of the Controller of Examinations
AN AUTONOMOUS INSTITUTION

Our Commitment

Mohamed Sathak A J College of Engineering & Architecture (MSAJCEA) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure our portals, including the Controller of Examinations and SPADE platforms, are accessible to all.

Guidelines & Standards

We strive to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with various disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.

Features on this Portal

To ensure a seamless experience, we have integrated several accessibility features into our portal architecture:

  • Keyboard Navigation: All critical functionalities, including menus, forms, and results checking, are fully navigable using a keyboard.
  • Screen Reader Compatibility: We use appropriate ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) landmarks and semantic HTML5 tags to ensure compatibility with modern screen readers.
  • Visual Contrast: Our interface utilizes high-contrast color schemes, specifically ensuring text is clearly legible against backgrounds.
  • Alternative Text: Images, including institutional logos and diagrams within the SPADE assessment portal, include descriptive alt text where applicable.
  • Scalable Typography: The site utilizes relative font sizing (rem/em), allowing users to scale text using standard browser zoom controls without breaking the layout.
  • Focus Indicators: Clear focus outlines are visible when navigating interactive elements like buttons and input fields.

Known Limitations

While we strive for comprehensive accessibility, some older archival PDF documents (such as legacy exam schedules or historical notices) may not be fully optimized for screen readers. We are actively working to digitize and convert these documents into accessible HTML formats.
